Shinichi Toyooka is Professor and Chair of the Department of General Thoracic Surgery at Okayama University. Dr. Toyooka has contributed to clinical practice, research, education, and academic leadership in general thoracic surgery in Japan for more than 30 years. His clinical and academic interests include lung cancer surgery, minimally invasive and multimodal treatment for thoracic malignancies, lung transplantation, and translational research in thoracic oncology. He has also been actively involved in international collaboration in thoracic surgery, including partnerships between Japanese and global thoracic surgical societies.
