Aortic Symposium

The 2026 AATS Aortic Symposium, a biennial symposium that spans nearly 40 years, is a two-day meeting focused on the pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of aortic aneurysms and dissections. This conference is designed for cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons, cardiac anesthesiologists, CT residents, perfusionists, ICU and OR nurses and those involved with the care of individuals with aortic disease. The meeting has come to be recognized as the primary international forum for this aspect of cardiothoracic surgery.
Joseph S. Coselli
Dr. Coselli is the Vice-Chair of the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery, holds the Cullen Foundation Endowed Chair, and is Professor and Chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. He serves as Chief of Adult Cardiac Surgery at Texas Heart Institute, and Associate Chief of the Cardiovascular Service at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, located in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. He is Program Director of the Thoracic Surgery Residency at Texas Heart Institute/Baylor College of Medicine and directs the Aortic Fellowship Program at Baylor College of Medicine.
Leonard N. Girardi
Dr. Leonard N. Girardi is the O. Wayne Isom Professor and Chairman of The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine. He is also the Cardiothoracic Surgeon-in-Chief and an Attending Cardiothoracic Surgeon at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center with surgical privileges at the Columbia University, NY Presbyterian Queens and NY Presbyterian Brooklyn campuses. He also has surgical privileges at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and The Hospital for Special Surgery.
Steven L. Lansman
Dr. Lansman received his MD and PhD (Biophysics) degrees in 1977 from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn. He trained in cardiac surgery at S.U.N.Y. under Dr. Randall Griepp, and received training in cardiac transplantation at Stanford University Hospital, under Dr. Norman Shumway.
