Cara Agerstrand, MD is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of Respiratory Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) at Columbia University Irving Medical Center / NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, New York. Dr. Agerstrand's area of clinical and research expertise is related to ECMO and its use in adults with severe cardiopulmonary failure. She is a frequently invited speaker at critical care and ECMO conferences worldwide and has over 80 publications, including 60 original peer-reviewed research articles.
