David H. Adams

Dr. David H. Adams is the Marie-Josée and Henry R. Kravis Professor and Chairman of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Cardiac Surgeon-in-Chief of the Mount Sinai Health System. He is internationally recognized as a thought leader in the field of mitral valve reconstruction, and leads a specialized team that performs more than 400 mitral valve operations per year. He is a co-author Carpentier’s Reconstructive Valve Surgery and has co-invented multiple valve repair prostheses used throughout the world.

Dr. Adams has given more than 400 invited lectures and has developed the world’s largest video library of techniques in valve reconstruction. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. He currently serves as the National Co-Principal Investigator of multiple US FDA pivotal trials, including the transcatheter mitral valve replacement Medtronic APOLLO Trial, and the transcatheter tricuspid valve repair Abbott TRILUMINATE Trial. Dr. Adams was recently the 99th President of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, and currently serves as the AATS Foundation President.
