The AATS Mechanical Support and Thoracic Transplantation Summit is a two-day, state-of-the art summit that will focus on contemporary and novel mechanical oxygenation and circulatory support devices: technologies to support the heart and lung, both inside and outside the body.

Matthew Hartwig
Dr. Hartwig is a tenured Professor of Surgery within the Division of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at Duke University School of Medicine. He has particular clinical interests in lung transplantation, disorders of the esophagus, and robotic technology utilization in thoracic surgery.
Ashish S. Shah
Dr. Ashish S. Shah is the Alfred Blalock Director and Chair of Cardiac Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He trained at Duke University Medical Center and served on the faculty of The Johns Hopkins Hospital for 10 years before joining the faculty at Vanderbilt.
Innovation Director: Marcelo Cypel
Marcelo Cypel is a Staff Thoracic Surgeon at University Health Network (UHN) and Professor of Surgery at the University of Toronto. He is the Surgical Director of the Ajmera Transplant Center and the director of the ECLS program at UHN.
